Darkness and Light

I've lost my way in darkness, yet the light still dwells in me.
My darkened mind says, "Just accept, this is reality.
There is no brighter future, and no better things to come;
You'll wait and weep and suffer on until your life is done.
Still something whispers in my heart, "You know this isn't true!
Great love and peace and joy and hope are waiting here for you."
So when life palls and darkness falls, I wait till night is past,
And know this too will slip away, and light will dawn at last.
