If you think that muscle cars are things of the past, especially ones manufactured during the 60s and 70s, then you would be quite surprised to find out that these are still very much popular with today's youth. There are actually newer models with futuristic appeal that are loved by many enthusiasts, but the passion for the classic models is still very much alive.
Some of the old muscle cars being manufactured today include the Challenger and the Charger. Of course the old staple, the Mustang, has never gone out of production. While the Charger of today looks little like its predecessor, the Challenger does in fact have shades of its former self in its new design.
You now have several options when you want to buy modern versions of these cars. Many of the car manufacturers offer these types with upgraded transmission options. You will also find that they are much more fuel efficient. This was of course a huge problem with the older muscle cars. The modern versions can also be availed with great options that can be handy most of the time such as the power steering system and GPS system. There are also some companies that accept customized orders. This means that you dictate the look and the kinds of systems that you want to be included in your car.
With the continuous rise of gasoline costs, there are also some models of muscle cars that are developed to run on electricity. The production has started in many big-time car manufacturers. The idea here is that you will be required to charge the battery of the car for the required hours before you can drive it on the road. Of course many car enthusiasts would tell you that these are not true muscle cars.
This course is up for debate. However, in the end, all that matters is what you think as you will be the one buying the car.
