A valve is a crucial industrial component for controlling the flow of fluids and gases. SVR Global is a renowned valve manufacturer in USA that provides industrial-grade valves enabling vital industries to operate safely, cleanly, and more efficiently. Our mission is to provide high-quality reliable valves at reasonable costs with prompt delivery for industrial and commercial applications. With unparalleled expertise in efficient flow pathways and mechanical design, SVR Global has established itself as the premier manufacturer of the next-generation valves.
As the largest gate valve manufacturer in USA, we provide a secure platform with a diverse selection. We make and offer gate valves that are tailored to specific industrial demands.
What is a Gate Valve?
A gate valve, also known as a sluice valve, knife valve, or slide valve, is a linear motion manual valve with a vertical rectangular or circular disc that glides over an opening to stop the flow and acts as a "gate." A gate valve opens by lifting a barrier (gate) out of the flow of the fluid. Rather than regulating flow, a gate valve is used to stop liquids from flowing.
A gate valve requires very little space along the pipe axis and barely resists the fluid flow when the gate is fully opened. A gate valve is the most common type of valve that is suitable for both underground and above-ground installation.
Applications of Gate Valves:
- Gate valves are used to isolate specific areas of the water supply network during maintenance, repair works, and new installations, as well as to reroute water flow across the pipeline.
- Gate valves are mostly used with larger pipe diameters (greater than 2") because they are less complex to build than other types of large-size valves.
- Gate valves without an additional sealing ring on the gate are used where minor valve leakage isn't a problem, such as heating circuits or sewer pipes.
- Gate valves are typically used in on-off applications. They are best used in systems that require infrequent valve use.
- The valves are intended for full-area flow to reduce the pressure drop and allow the passage of a pipe-cleaning pig.
- Gate valves are suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure applications.
Advantages of Gate Valves:
- Provide excellent shutoff properties.
- Low frictional loss due to low-pressure drop.
- Can be used as a Bi-directional valve
- Available in various sizes.
- Can be used with slurries and viscous liquids
- Inexpensive
- Fire-resistant by nature (when used with a metal sheet)
- Maintenance and disassembly are easy.
Dis- advantages of Gate Valves:
- Throttling service is not supported.
- Slow disc movement in operation; completely opening or fully closing takes time.
- Repairs involving lapping and grinding are challenging to execute.
- Resulting in noise and vibration when partially open.
- Low-pressure constraints.
- Disk and seat wear.
Industries that use Gate Valves:
Gate valves can be found in a variety of industries, including
- Automotive
- Manufacturing
- Marine
- Mining
- Offshore applications
- Oil & gas
- Power plants
- Water treatment
Types of Gate Valves:
We have various sections of valve types with various connection ends and help ensure proper flow, accurate configuration, and durability in all valve packages. The different types of Gate Valves provided by SVR Global are-
A Bellow Valve is a specifically engineered valve for use in sectors that deal with toxic media, where even minor leaks can be disastrous. With the exponential rise of new industries like the chemical and nuclear industries, pipelines are becoming increasingly clogged with combustible, dangerous, severely poisonous, and toxic media. There is a considerable chance of leakage, explosion, and health hazards as a result of this. As a result, the valves used in these pipes and systems must meet particular leakage and sealing standards. The Bellow seal globe valve was created in response to the necessity for a completely different way to provide the needed sealing and redundancy.
A Rising Stem Gate Valve is a type of gate valve that can follow the opening/closing position by moving the stem up and down, can be monitored electronically by adding a monitoring key, and does not obstruct the flow when fully open.
Threads on rising stem gate valves are located on the outside of the valve body. The amount of exposed stem makes it simple to determine whether the valve is open or closed. The valve is closed when the handle is flush with the pipe (no exposed stem). The valve is open if a large number of stems are exposed.
A gate valve with a non-rising stem is known as a non-rising stem gate valve. It is also known as a Blind Stem Wedge Gate Valve or a Rotating Stem Gate Valve.
The stem of this type of valve does not move up and down when the gate is opened and closed. By looking at the valve, it is impossible to tell whether the gate is open or closed since the stem is not visible.
A forged steel gate valve is a commonly used gate valve made with forging material. When the valve stem is operated, the gate on the threaded part of the stem travels vertically. It is mostly employed when a fluid flow in a straight line with minimal restriction is desired.
The gate is completely pushed up into the valve once the valve is wide open, leaving an entrance for flow. As a result, the flow restriction through the valve is minimal. This valve is not suitable for throttling functions since flow control would be difficult due to the valve design, and the flow of fluid slapping against a partially open gate could cause serious damage to the valve.
