India has moved to the main spot in Test cricket rankings following a vehement 4-1 series triumph against Britain.
The Indian group moved past Australia who are currently second in the table, as per the rankings delivered by the Global Cricket Gathering late Saturday.
India lost the initial Test against Britain prior to returning to win the excess four matches, including the last game which finished in Dharamsala on Saturday.
In January, India had slipped to runner up in Test rankings after a drawn 1-1 series against South Africa.
Australia surpassed India at the top subsequent to clearing the three-Test series at home against Pakistan.
At present Australia lead the two-Test series against New Zealand 1-0 following their 172-run triumph in Wellington.
India will stay at the top no matter what the result of the second New Zealand-Australia Test in Christchurch.
India are now the main group in one-day and T20 internationals.
