Get off your ass
Stop playing this sick game of house
You sit and wait and waste away like a treasure buried with its map
You are a too old child, sitting in a playroom crying for band-aids
while you fossilize your spine, forgetting there was such a thing as outside
You lick the wrapper of your lollipop because you like the colors
All attention on your microwaved hot dog, forgetting about the sun
when you could be tasting the stars
The fires you used to build, eating dusted marshmallows off the stick
you found on the ground.
You're using pixel hands with a gigabyte brain, seeing things through your taped over lenses
Remember the dirt up to your knees, splintered elbows, sweat down your back, and bloodied lips
Build yourself higher than your Lego castles because like those stories told you...
Converse with the mountains until you can mind your own words of wisdom
Praise the sky and sing of how grand it is
Raise a heart-wrenching roar against the world's captors
Pursue the edge until the ground breaks beneath you
and trembles at what you have found
and who you have become.
