you probably don’t recall
you tripped her in the hall
you laughed and you let her fall
now she’s a splatter on the wall
tears in her mama’s eyes
left alone to question why
her only child had to die
at her grave, she says goodbye
this is my proclamation
be it heard across the nation
that this is no revelation
children are in isolation
which leads to desperation
and a need for validation
a promise it gets better
wrapped around them like a sweater
bullies won’t give a damn
unless somebody takes a stand
and tells them to their face
this behavior is a disgrace
social media isn’t their place
to use words like pepper mace
what gives you the right to say
she’s a loser, he’s fat or gay
you weren’t born this way
once together you would play
until somehow it was pointed out
it wasn’t a scream or shout
just a whisper in your ear
that made differences bad and crystal clear
a bully bears a bully
a daughter or a son
who sees no wrong in causing harm
and laughs when the deed is done
the circle must be broken
silent accusations spoken
a life isn’t a pawn or token
from this nightmare we must be woken
Don’t say there’s nothing you can do
this has nothing to do with you
they wear their hate like a tattoo
we need love to come break through
we must be brave to stop this hate
I promise you we cannot wait
This white flag we mustn’t wave
And meekly apologize to their grave
Look into her mama’s eyes
they’re cold, empty, sad and dry
she doesn’t even want to try
and just lets life pass her by
she stopped living when her baby died
you probably don’t recall
you tripped her in the hall
you laughed and you let her fall
now she’s a splatter on the wall
