Forbes has released a new report claiming that Cristiano Ronaldo is now officially the first billionaire in Football.
Ronaldo has more than 429 million followers on Facebook and earns approximately USD 65 million annually. He is also known as the most fantastic striker in Football.
Forbes reported Ronaldo's net worth at $105 million before taxes and fees. He is also listed at number 4 on Forbes Celebrity 100 2020.
He was ranked one spot higher than Lionel Messi, who many consider being a better footballer than Ronaldo. Forbes reports that Cristiano Ronaldo is the third world athlete to reach the milestone while still playing the sport.
After signing a huge endorsement deal with Nike, Tiger Woods was able to make it big in 2009. Floyd Mayweather achieved the same feat in 2017 due to a significant cut in his boxing matches' pay-per-view revenues.
Forbes spoke of his outstanding accomplishments, saying:
Ronaldo is the first person to achieve a team sport's $650 million earnings milestone. He has earned $650 million during his 17-year career and is expected to earn $765 million in his current contract, which expires in June 2022. Messi, who started playing at the senior level three years after Ronaldo in 2005, has earned $605 million in total salary.
