Maybe someone out there needs to hear this....
In my life and in my profession I have dealt with thousands of abusers, I am talking here about abusers of people. Some were physical, (including sexual abusers), others were emotional or even spiritual abusers. I have noticed that unless there is true meaningful repentance and a turning away from the pattern of abusive behavior, abusers simply do not stop. In most cases when abusers are cornered, like the cowards they are, they make themselves the victim. This is typical behavior, don’t let it take you by surprise.
I have also seen many examples of victims of abuse thinking that they have brought things on themselves. This is simply not so! Do not think that you have brought this on yourself!
Having said that, we all need to know that it is perfectly acceptable to set up healthy boundaries. Avoid interacting with people that bring you or others down. Seek out people who build you up, there are plenty out there!
