I've often heard it pointed out that we all have the same 24 hours in a day. I have exactly as much time in my day as anyone else, and the choice is mine about how I spend it.

 

The problem is that I don't instinctively know how to become successful. It takes work, research, and a lot of learning... which is exactly what I've been doing. And there's some key consistent patterns that the most successful people in the world all stick to.

 

The first is the most encouraging: people who change the world, who make their dreams come true do things their own way. Yes, of course there's certain patterns and consistencies, but they play to their strengths and carve their own path. They're not concerned with copying someone else's success - they want their own.

 

They never stop growing. They're never "done". Continuing to grow, learn, and become better, more knowledgable individuals is a lifelong journey that will only serve you. 

 

They don't give up. People will say no to you. They won't see your vision, share your passion, or be committed in the way you are. That's okay. But it shouldn't be the end. You're the one with the dream, it's your job to see it happen.

This tip goes for your finances as well as your career success. Financially, start saving your money and investing as soon as possible. Self-made billionaires realize the enormous value of compound interest, and that a small amount invested now can become a fortune later.

 

Additionally, some of the world’s largest companies are run by CEOs that are under 40 — such as, most famously, Mark Zuckerberg at 32. These young CEOs were able to capitalize on their strengths early in life and use it to catapult to success.

This doesn’t have to entail inventing the next iPhone either; something as simple as rethinking your tasks at work can bring along massive innovations.

 

7) They don’t take “no” for an answer.

One thing all billionaires and big thinkers have in common is that they were told “no” at some point in their lives. The trick is to keep swimming against the tide.

 

Realize that “no” is just someone’s opinion, nothing more.
